Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how deposits, refunds, and cancellations work when you order a garage storm shelter for installation within our Oklahoma City metro service area.

1. How Payment Works

A 10% deposit is required when you place your order online.

The remaining balance is due on the day of installation.

Your deposit reserves your shelter, installation date, and helps cover scheduling and order processing.

2. Free Change-of-Mind Window (2 Hours)

If you change your mind within 2 hours of placing your order, you may cancel for any reason and receive a full refund of your deposit.

To cancel during this period, email support@stormsheltersonline.com from the same email address used for your order. Include your order number and the words “Cancel Order.”

Refunds are issued to your original payment method. Processing times depend on your bank or credit card company.

3. Cancellation Before an Installation Date Is Scheduled

If you cancel after the 2-hour window but before we have confirmed your installation date by email, you are eligible for a full refund of your deposit, provided we have not ordered custom materials or incurred non-recoverable costs for your project.

4. Cancellation After an Installation Date Is Scheduled

Once your installation date has been confirmed by email:

  • More than 48 hours before installation: Full deposit refund.
  • 48 hours or less before installation: Deposit is non-refundable.
  • After our crew has been dispatched or is traveling to your property: Deposit is non-refundable.
  • After installation has begun: Deposit is non-refundable, and you may be responsible for reasonable charges for work already completed.

5. How to Cancel

All cancellations must be made by email to:

support@stormsheltersonline.com

Include:

  • Full name
  • Order number
  • Installation address
  • Scheduled installation date (if applicable)
  • A clear statement requesting cancellation

Your cancellation becomes effective when we receive your email.

6. If We Cancel Your Order

You will receive a full refund of your deposit if:

  • We cancel your order.
  • We determine your property is not suitable for a standard installation.
  • We are unable to complete your installation within a reasonable time due to circumstances within our control.

If weather or another temporary issue delays installation, we will contact you to reschedule whenever possible.

7. Customer Responsibilities

Installation may be delayed or canceled if:

  • We cannot access your garage.
  • The installation area is unsafe.
  • Required information has not been provided.
  • No responsible adult is present when required.

If these issues occur within 48 hours of your scheduled installation or after our crew has been dispatched, your deposit may be non-refundable, and an additional deposit or trip charge may be required before rescheduling.

Permit requirements vary by city. If permit issues prevent installation, refund eligibility will depend on the timing of the cancellation and any costs already incurred.

8. Weather Delays

Storm shelter installations may be delayed because of severe weather, unsafe site conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control.

If this happens, we will contact you by email to schedule the next available installation date.

9. Refund Processing

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.

We typically process approved refunds within 10 business days after confirming your cancellation by email. Your bank or card issuer may require additional time to post the refund.

10. Changes to Your Order

If you need to change your shelter size, upgrades, or installation address, email support@stormsheltersonline.com as soon as possible.

If your requested change affects an installation scheduled within 48 hours, the cancellation policy above may apply.

11. Non-Refundable Situations

Your deposit is non-refundable if:

  • You cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled installation.
  • You cancel after our crew has been dispatched.
  • Installation has already started.
  • The installation cannot proceed because required access or information was not provided at the scheduled time.

This policy does not limit any rights you may have under applicable Oklahoma or federal law.
